About The Moth Poetry Prize Competition

The Moth Poetry Prize is one of the most coveted awards for an unpublished poem. Anyone above the age of sixteen can participate, and it attracts a large following, ranging over 50 countries, and thousands of entries and many more readers.

A good poem can speak volumes in silence.
Good Poetry is on the verge of fading into the dark.
Do you have what it takes to break the monotony?
Does your poem come across as a breath of fresh air?
Make us feel it.

Why it matters to you, young poet :

The Prize is free of restrictions. You are free to write on any subject without any line limit. It is an open platform for all artists trying to find their rhythm in this world through their thoughts artfully expressed in writing.

And you can send multiple entries too!

The prize is judged anonymously by a single poet. The judge only learns who the shortlisted poets are following the selection of the winning poems.

Past judges include Deborah Landau, Daljit Nagra, Leontia Flynn and Billy Collins.

This year’s Judge is Jacob Polley.
